How to prompt for an SVG you can still recolor

Use the AI SVG generator when the file has to stay a graphic: an icon, a simple scene, UI illustration. Photoreal people are a poor fit. Most image models give you pixels. Vectors from a prompt keep the edges clean when you need to recolor a shape or scale it for print.
Prompt shapes, not camera settings
"A flat vector bird, side view, yellow wing, charcoal body, cream background" beats "cinematic, 8k, detailed feathers."
Generate a few, pick the cleanest edges
You want paths you can recolor later. A pretty PNG with fuzzy edges is the wrong output for this tool.
Edit instead of hoping the next roll is perfect
Open the result in the SVG editor if a path is wrong. Use change SVG color if only the palette is off. Recolor the SVG you already have when the drawing is right and the brand yellow is not.
Already have a PNG or JPG? Use the illustration to vector converter to trace a drawing or painted artwork into an editable SVG.
