How to use the Illustro plugin in Figma
Illustration made with Illustro

If the layout is already open in Figma, leave the browser tab for later. Generate in the file. That is the same reason Illustro is on the Figma Marketplace.

1. Install the plugin

Open Illustro AI on Figma Community and install it. Then run it from the plugins menu in your file.

2. Connect your Illustro account

The first run asks you to log in. Use the same account you use on illustro.app so styles, credits, and saved files stay in sync.

3. Write a scene that fits the frame

Look at the empty slot before you prompt. A 1440px hero and a 320px empty state need different crops. Describe who, where, and what they are doing: "a product designer reviewing a mobile app on a laptop, soft daylight, simple desk."

4. Place, then check contrast

Drop the result into the real layout, not a blank page. Check it against the actual type and background. If the crop is wrong, generate a closer composition instead of scaling a wide scene until it breaks.

You can still generate on the web and export. The plugin is for when Figma is already the destination. If the crop is wrong after you place it, edit the illustration instead of starting from a blank prompt.

How to make a one-line drawing from a photo

A one-line drawing shows a subject with flowing lines that look drawn without lifting the pen. You can make one from a photo with Illustro's Image to Line Art tool: upload, choose Black & White, download.

How to animate a drawing with AI

To animate a drawing with AI, scan or photograph it, upload it, and let the AI add motion. In Illustro you pick a 4, 6 or 8 second MP4 with optional sound, and you can describe the movement or let the AI choose it.
